600 expected to attend US Multicultural Marketing Conference

The theme of this year's US Advertiser Association (ANA)'s ANA Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Conference is “Marketing to a Multicultural Nation”. The Conference aims to help marketers navigate the changing landscape and provide case studies and ideas on driving business growth. It runs over three days and is has speakers from multinational companies such as Amway, American Express, Diageo and McDonald's. This event is expected to attract more than 600 attendees. The conference will also include the 13th annual Multicultural Excellence Awards, which recognizes marketers and their agencies for their work in producing superior multicultural advertising and marketing campaigns.

Confirmed speakers include:
  • Jori Hartwig, chief marketing officer at Amway North America
  • Nydia J. Sahagún, senior manager of multicultural brand marketing at Target Corp
  • Dante N. Mastri, global strategy and capabilities, Global Merchant Services at American Express
  • Della Ng, vice president, Asian Segment Brand, and advertising manager, Enterprise Marketing at Wells Fargo & Co.
  • Gerald Johnson, chief diversity officer and senior vice president at the American Heart Association
  • Luke Visconti, chief executive officer of DiversityInc Media LLC
  • Marc Strachan, vice president of multicultural marketing at Diageo
  • Marlena Peleo-Lazar, chief creative officer at McDonald's Corp.
  • Desiree Reid, general manager and senior vice president of brand development at IMAN Cosmetics

Attendees will also hear from Steve Harvey, featured in The Original Kings of Comedy, a 2000 stand-up comedy film directed by Spike Lee. Harvey is the host of both a weekday morning radio program and Family Feud, the second most-watched daytime syndicated TV show.
