Brits launch microsite to improve pitching practices

Back to the overview
A new advertising industry microsite has been launched on October 11th 2011 at by the UK advertisers association (ISBA) and the UK advertising agencies association (IPA) to showcase new pitch practices and to encourage debate and discussion on pitching. Created as a portal for information and sharing of practices on agency pitches, has been designed to bring to life the new pitch principles ISBA and the IPA collaborated on earlier in the year.

Debbie Morrison, ISBA's Director of Consultancy and Best Practice, said: “We're really excited about delivering this site to the communications marketplace and providing a platform for people to get involved in the debate. Our ambition is that The Good Pitch will in the long-term help raise standards of pitch practice, stimulate thought and provide process guidance for anyone considering changing agencies. We want to get this right for both clients and agencies so we're asking anyone who uses or looks at the site to let us know what they think!”

The microsite also features:

• background research conducted into client and agency pitching habits and costs
• ISBA/IPA pitch principles
• industry talking heads, including senior ISBA members
• ideas and suggestions for new ways to conduct pitches
• best practice guidelines
• highlights of pitch session at ISBA conference 2011
• details of pitch initiatives created in international markets and training suggestions
• A blog to encourage industry discussion and debate to flourish is also central to the new site
