Italian association implements SR around green advertising

The Italian association (UPA) has led the implementation of a new article of Italian self-regulatory code (article 12) addressing the use of green claims in commercial communications.

The new rules state that green claims in advertising must be based on real, relevant and scientifically verifiable data and that the advertiser has to make clear which aspect of the product / production process the claims refers to.

The article, inspired by ICC code and EASA guidelines, was approved thanks to the efforts of UPA who was committed to implementing this by the Italian SRO, IAP.
