Pakistan publishes best practice on ad tax

Back to the overview
The Pakistan Advertiser Association (PAS) has published a paper on 'Branding Tax and Ethical Practices'.

The PAS argues that various forms of signage and mobile publicity are an effective medium of communications, which sees big budgets dedicated to them. To execute these advertisements, permissions in the form of a fee are required from local government authorities. If proper measures are not in place and if the advertiser or their agencies are not vigilant, the fee can be misappropriated depriving the government of its revenue. Therefore, it was necessary for the PAS to draft the advisory note on 'best practices' in an effort to guide advertisers to adopt responsible practices.
