WFA announces speakers for Global Marketer Conference

Back to the overview
November 30: The World Federation of Advertisers has unveiled the headline speakers for the 2013 Global Marketer Conference, which will be held in Brussels to coincide with the organisation's 60th anniversary.

The March 6 event, which will be co-hosted with the Belgian Advertiser Association (Union Belge des Annonceurs), will bring together the world's top marketers to discuss common challenges to building global brands. This year's focus will be on how global brands can achieve growth at a time when many regions of the world are suffering from economic downturns and even emerging markets are no longer as buoyant as they have been until recently.

Confirmed speakers include:
Andy Fennell, Global CMO, Diageo
Kimberly Kadlec, Vice President, Global Marketing Group, Johnson & Johnson
Antonio Lucio, Global CMO and Global Head of HR, Visa
Miguel Patricio, Global CMO, Anheuser-Busch InBev
Rory Sutherland, Vice Chairman, Ogilvy Group
Karel De Gucht, European Commissioner for Trade

The Global Marketer Conference is the showpiece event of the WFA's Global Marketer Week, which includes members-only events as well as thought-leadership sessions open non-members. One session will report back on insights from the recent CMO World Tour, based on interviews with senior marketers from around the world exploring their personal digital experience and vision for their companies' global digital marketing strategies. Also, back by popular demand after the 2012 Global Marketer Week in New York, Google will host a session led by Contagious on the most engaging and innovative strategies over the past year in the digital space.

Stephan Loerke, Managing Director of the WFA, said: “Sixty years ago, a group of visionary marketers saw the need for a global association to help marketers address their common challenges in an increasingly complex and interconnected world. Those common challenges have only become more pressing, reinforcing the WFA's role in bringing marketers together to address today's challenges and identify innovative solutions that will inspire growth.”
