The Advertising Council, established in accordance with Turkish Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection, brings together all stakeholders in the advertising industry. The Council’s purpose is to stay up to date on current and international developments in advertising and marketing communications, conduct research and to make judicial decisions and recommendations with regards to improving regulation and monitoring in these areas.

The Advertising Council held its first meeting recently in Ankara which was opened by the Deputy Minister of Trade Sezai Uçarmak. The meeting focused on current challenges and opportunities in digital advertising, the increase in media investements in Turkey and globally and the development of the country's advertising sector.



Actively involved in the Council is the Association of Turkish Advertisers (RVD) who also led the call on the creation of the Council a few years ago. During the meeting, RVD President Ahmet Pura emphasised on the advertising industry being a driving force in the Turkish and global economy and the need for strong collaboration among different industry stakeholders to create a sustainable media ecosystem.

The Advertising Council will convene once a year and operate around sub-committees. For more information, please contact RVD.
