Max Schmidt joins the digital policy team in Brussels and Joel Gan joins WFA’s Singapore team.

In his new role at WFA, Max will focus on online advertising and digital policy, and will support the Digital Governance Exchange, WFA’s forum for senior legal and digital marketing governance specialists.

Max was previously with user experience research company Good Measure Group in San Francisco, working on User Interface Research, and the Internet Education Foundation in Washington DC, where he focused on US Digital Policy issues.

A German national, he holds an MA in International Relations from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (USA) and a BSc in Business Administration from the WHU – Vallendar (Germany). He speaks English, German and Spanish, and is now working on his French.

Joel is WFA’s new APAC events manager, a position recently created in response to WFA’s growing presence in Asia.

Before joining WFA, Joel has worked in operations for the Bettr Barista Coffee Academy, working in tandem with the director of events to optimise daily operations for both business development and the events teams.

A Singaporean national, he holds a degree in Business Management from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, as well as a Diploma in Computer Engineering from Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore.
