The Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ) recently held the 8th edition of its Annual Marketers Convention, bringing together senior marketers, industry leaders and experts in the country to share marketing insights and discuss issues critical to the ad industry.

The four-day convention, with the theme "The New Generation consumer: Marketing to the future", had a diversity of speakers from Zimbabwe and beyond who touched on topics around data, internal collaboration, innovation, consumer insights, marketing to millennials and more.

Shyam Seebun, Founder and Director of the Institute of Marketing & Management in Mauritius, gave a thought-provoking presentation, challenging marketers to be at the forefront of improving their country's branding. David Okeme, Marketing Director at Unilever Nigeria and President of the Advertisers' Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), spoke on how consumer experience is evolving and creating a new wave of marketing.



MAZ also held its Exceptional Marketing Awards (EMA) during the convention, which celebrates excellence and innovation in marketing. Juliet Ziswa, Marketing Director of local mobile network provider NetOne, was named Marketer of the Year, while Denny Marandure, CEO of local mobile network provider ZOL, was given the Marketing-Oriented CEO of the Year award.
